The Carles Taché Gallery is pleased to present in its new space at 70 Trafalgar Street the new exhibition Everything is colorful of the artist Xavi CeerreThe inauguration will take place next Wednesday, June 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Within the framework of the event Art NouPromoted by Art Barcelona, the exhibition features the artist's paintings and sculptures, the latter part of an installation. All the works were created during 2023.
Xavi Ceerre, born in Alcoi 34 years ago, he became one of the most prominent painters of his generation, with exhibitions both nationally and internationally. This will be his second exhibition at the gallery.
His beginnings in Alcoi, a decaying industrial city, profoundly influenced his personal universe. Brutal architecture and disused spaces, now silent and empty, hold a mystery that he seeks to unravel. From a very young age, Xavi Ceerre found in these abandoned factories a favorable place to develop as a creator. From that moment on, artistic expression became an obsession, eventually becoming his way of life.
In the artist's own words:
"It's important to me to approach painting as a game, because by doing so, I have the freedom to change the rules when they no longer seem fun. I've experienced an internal war, alternating moments of affection with moments of hatred, until I reached a state of detachment that, at the same time, implies acceptance. This acceptance encompasses everything that comes to me, embracing fluidity and letting go of fear, allowing surprise to emerge."
In his most recent works, Xavi Ceerre recovers techniques such as decalcomania, he grattage or the automatism, who bring to their works an originality and personality that is rare in an artist of their age.
